Cops nab 11 in Kluang for break-ins and theft


KLUANG: Police arrested 11 men in a series of raids across Simpang Renggam, Kampung Gajah, and Tangkak on March 13 in connection with multiple break-ins, trespassing, and theft cases.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the operation, conducted between 1.39am and 9.00pm, involved officers from the Kluang District Criminal Investigation Department (CID), with support from the Tangkak CID and Simpang Renggam police station.

"The suspects, aged between 26 and 46, were linked to four cases involving house break-ins, trespassing, and theft.

"Seven of them have prior criminal and drug-related records, while six tested positive for methamphetamine following a urine screening," he said in a statement on Saturday (March 15).

During the raids, police seized several items believed to be stolen, including seven boxes labelled 'Komputer 1Malaysia' containing notebooks, a black LCD monitor, a black box containing a projector, a blue petty cash box, a black t-shirt, a brown bag, and a car.

All suspects have been remanded for four days from March 14.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house break-ins, Section 448 of the Penal Code for trespassing, and Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft.

In a separate incident, police arrested a 50-year-old man in Taman Sri Kluang on March 14 at around 12.30am in connection with a theft reported on March 8.

ACP Bahrin said the suspect has three prior criminal records but tested negative for drugs.

He has been remanded for four days, and the case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft.
