Thieves attempting to steal electric cables discover a shocking truth

STEALING electric cables for money is never a good idea, more so if you are not wearing a pair of good rubber gloves.

Recently, two thieves found out about this “shocking” truth the hard way when they tried to cut a TNB cable at Taman Silibin Ria near the Ipoh-Lumut highway, most likely to sell its metal components at the scrapyard.

A witness managed to record them in their attempt. What followed was a shower of sparks, where the both of them fell unconscious, likely due to the high voltage coursing through their body.

Sadly, however, one of the thieves did not rise again to appreciate the lesson he had learned.

More than that, the tragedy quickly turned into a ugly topic on racism where the online community by the numbers heaped condemnation over them.

Netizen @HabibKun4 said the cable was already 130 years old, sarcastically hinting at the recent temple case.

Also, @tunadanmayo added that the thieves might have had a dream about the cable.

Another netizen found it shocking that they were brave enough to commit crime in broad daylight with the many cars passing by.

Perhaps it was deliberate, since stealing the cables during the night might make them look conspicuous.

We suppose the winning comment goes to @bruhvr who said, “They won’t get to celebrate Raya.”

According to news portal Astro Awani, Ipoh District Police Chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad stated, “One of the suspects then got up on his own and continued to flee on a Honda C100 motorcycle, and the case was classified as sudden death.”

He added that initial investigations by the Ipoh District Police Headquarters also found that the deceased had 10 previous records related to violent and property crimes. —Focus Malaysia
