LAST night (March 28) in Kuala Lumpur, a balloon seller’s clash with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) enforcement officers on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman turned chaotic, sparking outrage.
Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, political secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, slammed the “despicable” rough treatment, questioning how Ramadan’s spirit of humanity could coexist with such brutality.
“What’s the point of fasting if it doesn’t humanise us?” he posted on X, demanding an immediate probe.
The unlicensed vendor’s resistance triggered a scuffle, drawing bystanders into the fray.
Viral videos of the brawl fuelled online backlash, with netizens condemning DBKL’s heavy-handed tactics as the deputy PKR Youth chief called for accountability. — Focus Malaysia
