Cops probe alleged lewd behaviour by student at university library

Police have launched an investigation after a video of a man engaging in lewd behaviour in the library of a private university in Subang Jaya had gone viral.

Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said they received a report last night about two videos which had made their rounds on social media.

He said that in one video, the man was seen being brought into the private university’s campus by a group of students.

“A preliminary investigation revealed that (the other) video recording showed the man, believed to be a student, engaging in an act resembling masturbation inside the library while watching a video on a computer in front of him,” he said in a statement.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code for engaging in obscene behaviour in public, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for insulting behaviour.

He urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation. - FMT
