Is breaking fast in the parking lot a new trend? Netizens scratch their heads

THEY say the ambience of a dining place plays a vital role in the dinner’s appetite.

So it comes as a huge surprise when a large group of people could be seen breaking their fast at the parking lot below Dataran Merdeka.

Bad ventilation, carbon monoxide from the passing vehicles and the sweltering atmosphere have always been part of the unpleasant features of a basement parking lot.

So what makes them dine there? Perhaps the lonely cat that stood watching them knew the answer?

Unsurprisingly, the comment section was filled with netizens pointing out the inhospitable condition in the parking lot.

It is a place where people do not want to stay for long, much less having a nice meal after many hours of fasting.

According to netizen @MrArchiDaily, people nowadays are becoming weirder. Also, @linana9742 wondered if it is hygienic to do so.

Then there was @potong_line99 who hilariously suggested that the people at times wanted to feel like they were homeless.

“These are the B40 people behaving like the B40,” pointed out @lookinforsumluv.

A good many netizens, however, are using the lone cat in the video as a source of comedy.

“Even the cat is shocked. Why are these people here? There are so many places to break your fast, but here,” said @shhraishak10.

“Should I adopt these stray humans?” added @dinadxxi jokingly.

Perhaps the winning comment goes to @Aizafeeza_ who said, “Are all these people being abandoned by their mothers too? – cat.”

“Who is the real cat here,” pointed out @shxh__, likely referring to those people as being equal to a feline.

Also, @my_goshopen with his picture comment claimed he never knew that there was a parking lot below the Merdeka Square even after three decades.

Finally, there was @harithilmi to unravel the mystery behind these mass dinners in the parking lot.

He said this was because the field at the Merdeka Square may be filled with people or it was raining.

On our part, we think it is vital for netizens to form their conclusions once every little bit of information has been accounted for.

News on the internet by be instantaneous. But in the immediacy, there comes a price.

As for the dinners in the parking lot, we hope they find a better, drier place to enjoy their meals. They deserve this. — Focus Malaysia
