Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) CEO Rani Hisham Samsudin said the ETS train from Butterworth station to Segamat station departed at 7.50am and arrived at 2.57pm, Bernama reported.
He expects the train service, which crosses major stations, to boost economic activities in Segamat.
Rani said promotional activities began three days ago, with visits to government offices, supermarkets, mosques and Ramadan bazaars around Segamat to meet the public and promote the extension of the ETS service to Segamat.
KTMB is also offering a special promotion with a RM10 discount for train services EG9321, EG9322, EG9420 and EG9425, subject to terms and conditions, for visitors coming to the Segamat station.
“Additionally, exclusive KTMB rail boutique merchandise and free health screenings by Cardiac Vascular Sentral Kuala Lumpur are also available at Segamat station to celebrate the launch of the extended ETS train service to Segamat today,” the statement said.
Tickets can be purchased through the KTM Mobile (KITS) app, KTMB’s website at www.ktmb.com.my, KTMB kiosk machines, or by contacting the KTMB call centre at 03-9779 1200. - FMT
