Livid over an arson attack on a playground at Jinjang Baru, Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng is offering a RM500 reward to anyone who can provide information so that the authorities can throw the book against the perpetrators.
“Any act of damaging public property is unacceptable, especially against newly upgraded facilities for the community,” he said on Facebook yesterday, with the status “feeling furious”.
Lim (above, right) added that according to witnesses, the arson, which occurred on March 11, was believed to have been perpetrated by a group of about 10 children - aged between 10 and 15.
Elaborating, the DAP lawmaker said the playground was just upgraded last year, at the cost of RM200,000.

Lim said the fire destroyed the slide and rubber flooring of the playground along Jalan 13/32, which was upgraded using an allocation from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall.
“This incident should serve as a reminder to the community to take care of public facilities to prevent similar incidents from happening again,” he added.
Lim said the police are investigating the case and urged the public to contact his office at 011-2770 1218 or the nearest police station if they have information. - Mkini
