The 36-year-old businessperson, who was summoned to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya this morning, underwent questioning from 10am until nearly 9pm.
According to him, the investigating officers informed him that the interview had concluded in relation to the nine videos and the trove of WhatsApp messages he exposed in connection with the Sabah corruption scandal.
“Everything went smoothly. I was told I don’t need to return tomorrow, but I should remain on standby in case they have further questions,” he told Malaysiakini.
He was accompanied by his lawyer, Mahajoth Singh.
Yesterday, the businessperson, known as "Albert”, was grilled for more than five hours.
Albert has alleged that he bribed several assemblypersons, including senior state ministers, in exchange for mineral exploration licenses.
Sabah speaker implicated
On Monday, he released his ninth video featuring Sabah legislative assembly speaker Kadzim Yahya.
Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor has accused Albert of colluding with individuals with vested interests to undermine his government.
There have also been suggestions that Albert is part of a cartel attempting to monopolise mining in the state, resorting to fraudulent tactics to achieve this goal.
In an attempt to discredit him, Albert's past record, including charges under the Immigration Act, was also raised. - FMT
