PUTRAJAYA
Former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob is expected to return to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) headquarters, for the sixth time, tomorrow for further questioning.

Ismail, who arrived at 9.57am, left the compound at 4.35pm after investigators quizzed him for at least six hours.

An MACC source said he would be called again tomorrow morning.

It was his fifth session with MACC today after he was called for questioning for the first time on Feb 19, nine days after he declared his assets to MACC.

The anti-graft agency previously said it was questioning the Umno MP as a suspect in an investigation into four of his former senior officers.

Ismail, who collapsed at home on Feb 22 and was hospitalised for blood pressure-related problems, could not attend two previously scheduled sessions with MACC on March 5 and 7.

MACC is investigating the discovery of about RM170 million in cash and 16kg of gold bars worth millions of ringgit, all of which were seized in raids at the residences of the four officers and three other premises believed to be “safe houses”. - FMT
