PETALING JAYA: A nine-year-old boy died after he was allegedly hit by a sport utility vehicle driven by a teacher at a Program Perumahan Rakyat Termiskin affordable housing area in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan today.
Acting Rembau police chief Azmi Ali said the incident occurred at about 5.30pm while the child was playing in the area, Sinar Harian reported.
“The SUV driven by a 42-year-old teacher was headed from SK Legong Ulu Kota towards the PPRT area when it struck the child who was on the road,” he was quoted as saying.
The victim suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless driving. - FMT
