A video of a woman confronting her 67-year-old father for allegedly raping her teenage daughter has gone viral on social media, and police later confirmed that the man has been detained.
According to Sinar Harian, the man has been remanded for six days to facilitate investigations under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code.
The case is believed to have come to light after the 13-year-old student confided in her mother about the incident. The woman later lodged a police report two days ago.
Initial investigations found that the victim had previously been living with her grandfather in Batu Pahat, Johor, following her parents’ divorce.
However, in April, the victim was taken home by her mother to a northern state in Peninsular Malaysia.

The report stated that the mother began to suspect something was amiss after noticing that her daughter had been sending messages to an acquaintance.
At first, the teenager did not reveal what had happened, but eventually admitted to having been allegedly raped by her grandfather.
Investigations also found that the incident is believed to have taken place throughout last year, with the last alleged occurrence said to have happened in December. - Mkini
