The comptroller of the Negeri Sembilan Royal Household says the Yang Dipertuan Besar wants to focus on issues in the state.

Nor does he need an official invitation to attend the meeting, said Comptroller of the Negeri Sembilan Royal Household Azizi Mohamad Ali.
“However, Tuanku has decided not to attend the meeting and wants to focus on issues in Negeri Sembilan, particularly the matter involving the undang of Luak Jelebu,” Azizi said.
On Aug 29, it was reported that Pahang Telekom Malaysia senior general manager Azrin Khairi was appointed and proclaimed as the 17th undang of Luak Jelebu.
This morning, The Straits Times of Singapore reported that Tuanku Muhriz had been invited to the Conference of Rulers meeting.
It said the development is seen as recognition by the Malay rulers of Tuanku Muhriz as the rightful ruler of Negeri Sembilan, amid a royal crisis stretching six months that saw his cousin, Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar, “proclaimed” as the new ruler.
ST said Perak’s Sultan Nazrin Shah, who is slated to chair the meeting from tomorrow until Oct 15, invited Tuanku Muhriz to attend.
However, Tuanku Muhriz said he would only attend the pre-council meeting tomorrow, it reported.
Negeri Sembilan has been embroiled in a royal crisis since April, when four purported undangs, or chieftains, announced Tuanku Muhriz’s removal.
The same disputed undangs also purportedly proclaimed Tunku Nadzaruddin as the “new” Yang Dipertuan Besar at a five-star hotel in Melaka in June. - FMT
