PARTI Warisan Sabah will hold talks with opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan to discuss seat allocations for the upcoming 14th general election.
Warisan has repeatedly said it will not join Pakatan Harapan but its president Shafie Apdal said today: “I won’t provide details on what we will discuss. It will be an amicable discussion and we are not going to forsake anyone.”
The Semporna MP is in Labuan for ‘Bicara Presiden’, a roadshow to explain Warisan’s plans for the elections.
Also present were Warisan deputy president Darell Leiking, vice presidents Jaujan Sambokong and Junz Wong and youth chief Azis Jamman.
Earlier, Shafie told the crowd Warisan intends to contest in Labuan and will discuss with Sabah Pakatan Harapan for the parliamentary seat.
He said PKR had contested in the seat previously but never won.
“We are not going to force anyone. It is their (Sabah PH) right to contest. It is also our right to contest too.
“But what is important if we have a united force. That will be better for the struggle (to see the Barisan Nasional government ousted),” he said.
Previously, The Malaysian Insight reported Sabah Pakatan Harapan chairman Christina Liew as saying PKR was in informal talks with Warisan, Parti Cinta Sabah and one other, to form an electoral pact.
PKR also announced Bersatu president Muyhiddin Yassin will visit Sabah on Tuesday.
