PETALING JAYA – Datuk Seri Najib Razak acted as a host to Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, returning the favour after the renowned actor had hosted him during the Prime Minister’s visit to India last year.
“It was great to meet Thailava @superstarrajini again today, this time in Malaysia. Enjoy your time here,” tweeted Najib on Friday.
Thalaiva is Tamil for leader or boss, and is a term of respect.
Rajinikanth is in Malaysia for the Natchathira Vizha 2018 festival, happening at National Stadium, Bukit Jalil on Saturday (Jan 6).

In March last year, Najib visited Rajinikanth at his home in Chennai, India.
Rajinikanth, who had shot parts of his hit movie Kabali in Malaysia in 2016, had previously expressed his desire to meet the Prime Minister when he was in Malaysia for filming.
