Singapore to remove Woodlands entry toll

From Feb 1, Singapore will remove the toll charges for all vehicles entering the republic via the Woodlands Checkpoint, and reduce the charges for vehicles leaving the country at the exit, according to the country’s Land Transport Authority (LTA).
The current toll charges for vehicles entering Singapore via Woodlands are S$2.70 (for cars), S$4 (vans/light goods vehicles), S$5.30 (heavy goods vehicles), S$1.40 (taxis) and S$2.20 (buses).
LTA said on its website that from Feb 1, cars leaving Singapore via Woodlands will be charged S$1 (down from the current S$3.80), vans/light goods vehicles S$1.50 (S$5.80), heavy goods vehicles S$2 (S$7.70), taxis S$0.50 (S$1.90), and buses S$0.80 (S$3.10).
The current charges at the Woodlands Checkpoint were imposed on Oct 1, 2014. There is no charge for motorcycles entering and leaving via Woodlands.
LTA said the revision was to match Malaysia’s recent removal of toll charges at the Eastern Dispersal Link.
“This is in line with Singapore’s long-standing policy of matching Malaysia’s toll rates,” it said.
The LTA said there was no change to the toll charges at the Tuas Checkpoint.
Each way, at the Tuas Checkpoint, motorcycles are charged S$0.50, cars S$3.20, vans/light goods vehicles S$7.40, heavy goods vehicles S$14.70, taxis S$2.50 and buses S$3.90.
