‘CHRISTIANS HAVE TAKEN OVER PUTRAJAYA’ AN INSULT TO THE AGONG, SAYS MUJAHID: BUT WHAT WILL MUJAHID & OTHER ‘SCARED TO STICK THEIR NECKS OUT’ HARAPAN LEADERS DO ABOUT IT – SIT & CONTINUE TALKING HOT GAS WHILE UMNO MOCKS THE KING?

UMNO’S Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has undermined the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong with election campaign remarks that Christians have taken over Putrajaya, the minister in charge of religion said today.
Minister in the Prime Minister Mujahid Yusof Rawa said Tajuddin should remember that the king is the ruler of Malaysia and protector of Islam according to the Federal Constitution.
“He actually undermined the king to say that Christians have taken over Putrajaya,” Mujahid said.
The minister in charge of Islamic affairs was commenting on Tajuddin’s remarks yesterday while campaigning in Kampung Jawa during the Sg Kandis by-election in Selangor.
The Umno Supreme Council member had also shown a video of a Christian priest supposedly celebrating Pakatan Harapan’s victory in the recent 14th general election.
Tajuddin went on to highlight the appointments of politicians whom he said were Christians — Lim Guan Eng, Anthony Loke and Hannah Yeoh — to the cabinet. He claimed these leaders used their positions to spread Christianity.
Loke, however, does not practise Christianity.
Mujahid said such comments were typical of Umno, adding that the party’s “racist face” was becoming clearer.
“Race and religion can be very dangerous if they become the only issues that dominate a party. They will be tempted to use these issues as the last resort.
“It can sensitise the public, especially when appealing to voters,” the Amanah vice-president said.
Tajuddin should instead try to convince the people that Umno was capable of reforms instead of using race and religious issues.
“PH will not use such tools. Because number one, Christians taking over Putrajaya is a baseless and unfounded claim. The agong is still the ruler and the protector of Islam.”
Secondly, Mujahid said the people voted for PH not because they wanted Christian to take over, but because they hated Umno and its corruption.
Mujahid was speaking to reporters after a courtesy visit with Gabungan Persatuan India Muslim Pulau Pinang (GAPEIM) at a hotel on Gurney Drive, where the group raised several issues affecting the community and its mosques.
