SHOCK MURDER: ASSISTANT REGISTRAR WITH NRD KILLED BY BLOW FROM BLUNT OBJECT – HANDPHONE DEALER COMES FORWARD WITH INFORMATION

SIBU – An assistant registrar of the National Registration Department died from head injury after being hit by a blunt object, a post-mortem done on the body revealed.
Nurnia Azalea Priscilla Edward’s semi-nude body with her hands and legs tied to the back was found by her colleagues by her bedside at 2.30pm on Thursday (Aug 2) at her rented house in Jalan Tiong Hua.
Her colleagues had gone to her house to look for her on the request of her husband, 29, an administrative clerk of a school in Tatau, after his many calls to her went unanswered.
They had been married for a year and had no children.
Sibu OCPD, asst comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said on Saturday (Aug 4) that a pathologist from the Forensic Department of Kuching General Hospital, Dr Norliza Ibrahim, had conducted the post-mortem.
She found the skull of the victim was fractured, and there were also injuries on her face and neck.
“The pathologist in her report said the victim, 26, died after being hit with full force with a blunt object. There was also internal bleeding in the head and bruises near the neck area,” he added.
Stanley said the police were still looking for a man identified as Philip Uja, 40, from Kanowit to assist in their investigation into the death of the victim under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
He also said that the police had recorded statement from a handphone dealer.
The handphone dealer had posted on his Facebook account saying that at about 10.30am on Aug 2, a man came to him to help access a handphone which he claimed belonged to his wife as he had forgotten the password.
“When I opened it, I saw a picture of a woman with headscarves. Later at about 5pm, I read an online news of a murder at Jalan Tiong Hua. I was shocked to see the face of the woman in the news, which resembled the one that I saw in the handphone,” he said.
