Sabah Umno to Warisan: Stop ‘acting like a bull in a china shop’

PETALING JAYA: Warisan ministers should concentrate on their respective portfolios instead of interfering in the job of the authorities, Sabah Umno liaison chairman Hajiji Mohd Noor said.

“Shafie Apdal, Ajis Jamman, Loretta Padua, VK Liew and other Warisan leaders should stop harassing enforcement agencies, telling them how to do their job.

“If Warisan thinks they are the rightful government, then stop acting like a bull in a china shop and start running the government,” Hajiji said in a statement today.

He said Warisan should fulfil its manifesto and 100-days promise “to put Sabah on the right track”.

“Instead of administrating, Warisan leaders are more focused on pressuring the authorities, teaching them how to operate.

“The authorities should be allowed to do their job without fear or favour.

“Such harassment is tantamount to abuse of power, an accusation they hurled against Barisan National leaders prior to GE14 for political mileage,” the Sulaman assemblyman said.

“Now they are acting like a bunch of spoilt brats, accusing the authorities of special treatment, telling them what the standard operating procedures should be and what enforcement agencies should do.”

Hajiji said it looked like Warisan wanted the standard operating procedures to be on their terms.

He alleged that where former chief minister Musa Aman was concerned, Warisan’s quest was not for justice but vengeance.

“The narrative since they unlawfully hijacked the state government has been vengeful. It has been a constant witch hunt, demonising Tan Sri Musa at every chance they get.

“They have unashamedly used words like ‘fled’, ‘fugitive’ and ‘wanted’ in reference to Musa even though it is not true.

“Sadly, some media outlets have been equally callous in their news coverage of Musa, simply publishing stories without checking their facts.

“Judging by the incessant attacks, Warisan leaders seem to be afraid of their own shadow. Perhaps they are nervous that Musa is back.

“This is the level of leadership that exists in Warisan. One that stoops to lies and deception.”

Hajiji said Warisan seemed anxious because they have resorted to all kinds of dirty tactics, including a claim by a deputy minister that Musa was not sick but was instead in Phuket vacationing.

Hajiji said Musa’s team of physicians from the UK, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur have independently verified that Musa is indeed not well and has been advised against travelling.

Yesterday, Musa’s aide, in a statement, said the former chief minister hoped to be sworn in as Sungai Sibuga assemblyman as soon as possible. -FMT
