Selayang MP William Leong is prepared to vacate the seat in order for PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
“I am prepared to do so for Anwar,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby this afternoon.
This follows Anwar's wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and daughter Nurul Izzah stating the pair would not relinquish their respective Pandan and Permatang Pauh parliament seats.
Anwar is seeking to return to Parliament after being disqualified from the Permatang Pauh seat following his Sodomy II conviction in 2015.
On May 16, the Pakatan Harapan de facto leader was released from prison after being granted a pardon by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.
The pardon, which came a week after Harapan won federal power in the 14th general election, paved the way for Anwar's return to active politics.
The 70-year-old politician is slated to succeed Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad when the latter steps down.
