Perak state executive council (exco) members are united in supporting Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu, according to senior exco Asmuni Awi.
He dismissed the claims in an audio clip that Faizal did not have support as a “divide and rule” propaganda.
“This issue has actually strengthened our unity and ties as a family working for the interests of the people of Perak.
“To answer all doubts raised (due to the clip), we (the exco members) pledge our undivided support to the menteri besar's leadership,” he added in a statement this afternoon.

Apart from the exco members, Asmuni said all Pakatan Harapan assemblypersons in Perak supported Faizal as menteri besar as well.
“We promise the people of Perak that their interests will be our topmost agenda to ensure economic development for the state and wellbeing of the people,” he added.
Last week, it was reported that the audio clip had gone viral on social media.
The clip, which is more than four minutes, is of a purported Perak exco member accusing the menteri besar of tardiness and often skipping programmes with Perak ruler Sultan Nazrin Shah.
The person, who was believed to be speaking to a group of Umno asssemblypersons, wanted Faizal to be replaced.
Exco member Abdul Aziz Bari, whose voice is similar to that of the person in the clip, questioned if the recording was authentic.
“We don't even know if the source of the audio recording is authentic. It can be doctored,” said the DAP assemblyperson.

During the last state assembly meeting, Aziz denied he was out to oust the menteri besar, but opposition leader Saarani Mohamad claimed that five Umno assemblypersons met him over the alleged plot.
Meanwhile, Faizal, commenting on the audio clip, said that numerous quarters have attempted to topple him.
“I think I have mentioned this before. A lot of people tried to overthrow me since day one, but as you know, I am still the menteri besar, and will still be the menteri besar tomorrow - unless I fall down the stairs and die,” he added. - Mkini
