RANTAU POLLS | BN leaders have chastised Pakatan Harapan for using children as part of their Rantau campaign.
Activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard, yesterday highlighted the appearance of children at an event featuring PKR candidate Dr S Streram (pic).
The event is said to have happened on Wednesday.
Photos shared by Badrul, who was dismissed from PKR in 2016, show a group of children on a mobile stage used for Streram's campaign. The children are seen holding up boxes of colour pencils.
Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin said he was disappointed to see this happen.
"They have done this from before. If we do it they say it is child exploitation, but they used children.
"I hope this can be avoided. This is a political platform amid a by-election, it is not appropriate to involve children," Khairy told reporters.
Likewise, BN candidate Mohamad Hasan told a press conference that this was child exploitation and urged the Election Commission will look into the matter.
Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak also chimed in, posting on Facebook that this was unethical and against the law. - Mkini
