PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional’s Maran MP Ismail Abd Muttalib has urged the authorities to investigate those behind claims on social media that he had passed away.
Ismail told FMT it was his father who died this morning.
“I am still alive. You are talking to me,” he said.
“No, there will not be a by-election here,” quipped the 64-year-old.
Ismail, a former deputy minister, hopes the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission will investigate the viral message.
In the last general election, Ismail defeated the PKR and PAS candidates to win the Maran federal seat in Pahang. - FMT
