KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 48 people were arrested after police raided two wild parties held at a condominium in the city.
Those detained were aged between 12 and 25 but most of those arrested were teenagers.
Acting on a tip-off, police personnel raided the condominium in Kampung Berembang, along Jalan Ampang, at about 10.30am on Thursday (Nov 21) and arrested 27 men and seven women.
Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Rajab Ahmad Ismail said that police also seized 2.30g of ecstasy pills, 1g of Erimin 5 pills and 1g of ketamine from the condominium unit.
"We believe the suspects would gather at the unit and have a drug-laden private party.
"We also arrested two women, believed to be the party's organisers," he said when contacted.
Two hours later, police raided another unit at the same condominium and arrested eight men and four women, he added.
"We seized an array of drugs, including 1.7g of ecstasy pills, 1g of ketamine and 500ml of ketum water," he said.
Supt Rajab said some of those arrested were still in school while others worked in the private sector.
"We are investigating the activities of those involved in such private parties. The suspects have been remanded for four days," he added.
He advised the public not to be involved in such private parties as it is clearly against the law.
"We will take stern action against the organiser as well as the participants," he said.
Supt Rajab urged anyone with information to contact the Wangsa Maju Narcotics unit at 03-92899 2222.- Star
