CORONAVIRUS | China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd (CCC-ECRL) has donated a shipment of medical equipment to the Health Ministry in support of calls to do so by the Chinese Embassy.
In a statement today, the company said the shipment includes 3,000 N95 masks, 2,000 KN90 masks, 20,000 surgical masks and 1,200 goggles.
The company also made an order for 2,000 RT-PCR detection kits which is used to test for the Covid-19 virus.
These items were presented by CCC-ECRL managing director Bai Yinzhan to Health Ministry secretary-general Dr Chen Chaw Min.
"We continue to stay true to our belief in creating value and giving back to society.
"Through the donation of medical supplies, we will ride through the Covid-19 storm together with Malaysia," said Bai.
CCC-ECRL, the contractor of Malaysia's East Coast Rail Link project, said it would continue to procure more supplies in the future.
"To quote the Malay idiom used by Ambassador Bai Tian, 'bukit sama didaki, lurah sama dituruni' (Going through both the good and bad times together), we will continue to give our support for the excellent bilateral relationship between Malaysia and China.
"Together, we will win this fight," said Bai.
CCC-ECRL is the sister company of China Communications Construction Company, which in turn is owned by China's government. - Mkini
