CORONAVIRUS | According to Health Ministry data, Lembah Pantai and Petaling now have the most number of Covid-19 cases, at 167 and 158 respectively.
This is an increase of 77 cases in Lembah Pantai and 62 cases in Petaling.
Lembah Pantai comprises of Pantai Dalam and Bangsar.
The Petaling area includes a large part of Klang Valley including the local councils of Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya.
Other districts with a notable number of Covid-19 cases include Hulu Langat at 103 (increased by 28), Seremban at 74 (increased by 32), Johor Baru at 59 (increased by six), Gombak at 50 (increased by 12), Titiwangsa at 46 (increased by five) and Kota Baru at 43 (increased by 14).
In East Malaysia, the increase of new Covid-19 cases over the last three days have been less severe.
The four worst-hit districts are Tawau (49 cases), Kuching (44), Lahad Datu (34) and Kota Kinabalu (24).
This represents an increase of 12 cases for Tawau, 14 new cases for Kuching, two new cases for Lahad Datu and seven new cases for Kota Kinabalu.
Economic activities in the country have come to an almost standstill following the enforcement of the movement control order beginning March 18.
Under the order, non-essential businesses and services have been ordered to shut while people are discouraged from leaving home except for pressing reasons.
The partial lockdown is expected to end on March 31 but could be extended.
The government is expected to announce an expanded stimulus plan on March 30.
As of noon yesterday, Malaysia has recorded 1,624 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 15 deaths. - Mkini
