Meru lawmaker Mohd Fakhrulrazi Mohd Mokhtar is believed to have left his party Amanah for PKR.
Malaysiakini understood that the Amanah member was officially admitted into PKR in September under the Petaling Jaya division.
The Amanah leadership, when contacted, insisted that Fakhrulrazi is still with their party and is working on a resolution with PKR.
"We have an understanding among Pakatan Harapan parties that we would not poach each other's members.
"Our leadership is talking with its PKR counterparts to sort this out," said an Amanah source who requested anonymity due to the delicate nature of the matter.
When contacted, Fakhrulrazi declined to comment on whether he had left Amanah and joined PKR.
"No comment dulu (for now)," he told Malaysiakini.
Attempts to contact PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution, who is in charge of membership, has been unsuccessful.
Fakhrulrazi, born in 1978, was convicted and fined RM1,800 in 2016 for uttering seditious remarks during a #KitaLawan rally in 2015.
Prior to joining Amanah in late 2015, he was the PAS Youth treasurer.
Amanah won nine seats in the Selangor legislative assembly during the 2018 election.
The party sacked Sabak lawmaker Ahmad Mustain Othman earlier this year. - Mkini
