Azmin appointed PN elections director

 

The Perikatan Nasional's supreme council has appointed its information chief Azmin Ali as the national elections director.

This development was the latest signal yet that PN was preparing for elections to be held soon.

In a statement today, PN secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin said the council had come to the unanimous decision on the matter yesterday.

Hamzah added that the council also unanimously decided to establish PN liaison committees at the state level to coordinate the coalition's activities.

The head of these committees will be chosen by PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin.

"The supreme council believes that these decisions will strengthen PN's work at all levels and improve coordination among component parties," Hamzah said.

PN officially comprises of Bersatu, PAS, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP).

The coalition is supported by BN, Gabungan Parti Sarawak and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS). - Mkini
