Beware DAP’s ‘Trojan horse’ strategy, says Annuar Musa

BN secretary-general Annuar Musa says there are moves to break up Perikatan Nasional.

PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional secretary-general Annuar Musa, sounding a warning against the “Trojan horse” strategy of the DAP, has urged political parties in the Perikatan Nasional government to strengthen unity and support for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

In a Facebook posting, Annuar reminded coalition partners that they had banded together out of concern for the manner in which “the DAP-led Pakatan Harapan” administered the country, and had brought down the PH government.

Annuar said there were indications of attempts to break up PN unity, adding: “Should we not strengthen our unity now, or should we go back to being disunited?”

DAP and its allies had returned to their old ways from before the 2018 general election and were out to break the coalition, he said, because “their biggest fear is that Umno, PAS and PPBM will stay united and oppose Pakatan Harapan in direct contests”.

“We will not allow DAP to regain power or try to dominate through the politics of Chinese opera,” he said, adding that he believed DAP had a more subtle strategy known as the Trojan Horse strategy to disrupt the government.

“(They) are pretending to be hiding behind, but they are making plans to cause a split among PPBM, Umno and PAS,” he said.

Annuar, who is also an Umno Supreme Council member, said he agreed with the party’s decision to join the PN government en bloc with Muhyiddin as prime minister, and PAS and PPBM as political allies, and steadfast in the stand not to work with DAP and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.

“If we want to succeed and to be trusted, we need to make sure that PN becomes a successful government, a united cabinet and a loyal and honest team,” he said in his posting.

He added that coalition politicians “must be willing to accept differences of opinion” as his view might not be the same as others. - FMT
