IPOH: Four students from Sekolah Raja Perempuan Taayah here have been tested positive for Covid-19.
State Islamic Religious and Information committee chairman Mohd Akmal Kamarudin said the four were part of more than 300 students and teachers that had undergone swab tests recently.
"Those tested positive are two Form 6 students, a Form 3 and a Form 4 students, respectively.
"Meanwhile, 70 other students are currently being quarantined at the Kolej Sains Kesihatan Bersekutu in Ulu Kinta and at the school's dormitory since Sunday.
"The situation is under control and the school was forced to close as a measure to curb the spread of the virus," he said.
Mohd Akmal told reporters after opening 'Program Ijtimak Perkaderan Dakwah' at Casuarina Hotel in Meru here, today.
Present was Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) director, Datuk Mohd Yusop Husin.
He added that so far there were no reports on Covid-19 cases among students of Sekolah Izzuddin Shah here.
Previously, there was a report claiming that Sekolah Izzuddin Shah and Sekolah Raja Perempuan Taayah have been ordered to close after students were tested positive for Covid-19. - malaymail
