KK Puspakom branch suspends operation after staff member contracts Covid-19

KOTA KINABALU: Puspakom’s Kota Kinabalu branch has temporarily shut down its operations on Saturday (Nov 21) after a member of its staff tested positive for Covid-19.

The branch said in a statement that the staff member has been hospitalised for treatment while all other employees will undergo Covid-19 testing.

The company said that all staff members who were in direct contact with their Covid-19-positive colleague have also been ordered to undergo 14-days quarantine.

It said the branch's closure was to allow for cleaning and sanitising of the premises and would be reopened on a date to be announced later.

On the advice of the Road Transport Department, the branch said that commercial vehicle owners who have to renew their permits would be given leeway during the closure of the Kota Kinabalu Puspakom branch.

For those clients who already made appointments and payments with Puspakom Kota Kinabalu, all payments would be returned automatically.

The statement added that Puspakom would closely work with the Health Ministry and would inform clients on any updates from time to time. - Star
