Melayu Lawan Melayu: This Is Not About Budget 2021 But About PM9

In essence, they need an excuse to oust Muhyiddin. And they are using the “bad” Budget 2021 as that excuse. This way, they can declare they are opposing Budget 2021 merely for the good and the benefit of the rakyat and not so that Anwar can take over as PM9.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

The current Melayu lawan Melayu political crisis is NOT about Budget 2021, even though that is the impression they are trying to give. It is about ousting Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin so that Anwar Ibrahim can take over as prime minister or PM9.

They need an excuse to oppose Muhyiddin. And they need the reason to appear noble. They cannot admit that the reason they want to oust Muhyiddin is so that Anwar can take over as prime minister. So, they are using Budget 2021 as the excuse.

Opposition to Budget 2021 is a ruse to make Anwar the PM

This is just a ruse or tipu helah. Wayang saja.

The people are facing difficulties. And the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic has added to this difficulty. Hence the people are facing financial difficulties not because of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic but the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic has made it even more difficult.

This is the fundamental issue which we must first understand.

I repeat that. The people are facing financial difficulties not because of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. The Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic has made it even more difficult for the people who are already facing difficulties.

Now, we have discussed this matter more than 25 years ago back in the mid-1990s. At that time, Anwar Ibrahim was the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister and we told him that Malaysia should set a minimum wage of at least RM1,200 a month.

But the mostly Chinese dominated business community did not agree. If Malaysia sets a minimum wage of RM1,200 a month, then Malaysia would not be competitive against Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, etc. Malaysia needs immigrant workers (50% who are illegal immigrants) who are prepared to work for pittance in deplorable living conditions for Malaysia’s industries to remain competitive.

In short, Malaysia needs slave workers to be able to compete against other South-East Asian or ASEAN countries. Hence a minimum wage of RM1,200 a month (back in the 1990s) is out of the question. And this means salaries will remain extremely low and most Malaysians will never be able to live and support a family on such pittance that only illegal immigrants would be prepared to accept.

25 years ago Anwar and Mahathir were told to set the minimum wage to RM1,200 a month, as the rakyat were struggling, but they refused

Yes, capitalists wanted salaries to remain low, below what was fair for people to live. Hence people were surviving hand to mouth. By the middle of the month people were broke. And many were forced to turn to loan sharks or ah long to make ends meet. And this made things even worse.

If Anwar and the Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad government had listened 25 years ago and had done something about setting the minimum wage to at least RM1,200 a month, Malaysians would not to be so desperate. Hence Malaysians were already struggling long before the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic came. The pandemic just made it worse.

Pakatan Harapan and the Anwar Ibrahim faction in Barisan Nasional are trying to make it appear like the rakyat’s financial predicament is the fault of the Perikatan Nasional government that took office just months ago.

No. The problem is because the previous governments since the 1990s refused to agree to a minimum wage of RM1,200 a month and instead allowed immigrants to take the jobs that could have gone to Malaysians had the salaries been just and fair.

Malaysia’s economy thrives on cheap and illegal foreign labour at the expense of Malaysian citizens

Anwar and his Pakatan Harapan talk about reforms, reformasi, etc. One of the greatest reforms needed is social justice. But when we asked them to consider this back in the 1990s, they refused. So, today, Malaysians are suffering.

And now, they are pretending they are opposed to Budget 2021 because it does not help the rakyat. Yeah, right! Why disagree to the RM1,200 minimum wage proposal back in the 1990s? Why favour the capitalists by keeping salaries low? Should the rakyat not come first, as you keep saying? Yes, saying only. But not really serious about what you are saying.

They are just trying to find fault with Budget 2021 so that they have an excuse to oppose it. They say they want six months moratorium on loans and up to RM10,000 EPF withdrawals in one go. If Budget 2021 had included a one-year moratorium on loans and up to RM20,000 EPF withdrawals in one go, they would look for another fault or kelemahan in Budget 2021 to complain about.

In essence, they need an excuse to oust Muhyiddin. And they are using the “bad” Budget 2021 as that excuse. This way, they can declare they are opposing Budget 2021 merely for the good and the benefit of the rakyat and not so that Anwar can take over as PM9.

Anwar was supposed to be PM7, which is why PM8 Muhyiddin must be ousted at all costs

Anwar taking over as PM9 is coincidental or kebetulan only. Since Muhyiddin happens to have been ousted, then Anwar takes over. Muhyiddin was not ousted so that Anwar can take over. Muhyiddin was ousted because he is not helping the rakyat in Budget 2021.

That is the con they are playing. And have you noticed that this is a Melayu lawan Melayu affair? The DAP people are very careful about not being seen as being involved or else this may cause the Malays to unite. So, the DAP people are using the Malays to fight the Malays.

Of course, there are also some in Umno as well who support Anwar and want to see Muhyiddin ousted. This is because Anwar has promised them ‘get-out-of-jail-free’ cards. These people are angry that since Muhyiddin took over as PM8 in March, their court cases have not been dropped yet.

So, it is basically all about personal issues and not about the rakyat — but dressed up to make it appear like it is about the rakyat. Yet again the rakyat is being used to satisfy the nafsu of certain individuals who lust for power. Rakyat diguna dan ditipu lagi.
