Perak MB’s staff member tests positive for Covid-19

 

COVID-19 | A staff member of the Perak Menteri Besar’s Office (above) has tested positive for Covid-19, according to the office.

In a statement today, the office said all other staff members have been ordered to undergo quarantine at home and monitor their health pending further instructions from the Perak Health Department.

“For information, Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu was not in office during this period as he was attending the parliamentary session.

“As a precaution, however, Faizal had undergone health screening yesterday and has been confirmed negative for Covid-19,” said the statement.

Faizal is the Tambun MP.

According to the Perak Health Department, the Kinta district where the state capital of Ipoh is located recorded 23 Covid-19 cases in the 14 days up to noon yesterday.

Of these, seven were recorded in the Ipoh subdistrict. - Mkini
