PETALING JAYA: Three infants with heart problems were flown from Kuching today by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) for treatment in Kuala Lumpur.
Nineteen-day old Marry Anne Methew Mavrick, who suffers from a congenital heart block and two-month old Abang Muhammad AlFatih Abang Mohammad who has congenital heart disease, were taken to the National Heart Institute.
Twenty-day old Eliora Mia Nawan, who suffers from transposition of great arteries, was sent to Gleneagles Hospital in Ampang.
They had previously been treated at the Sarawak General Hospital.
The RMAF said the infants travelled in an A400M transport aircraft together with two medical officers, two nurses and their mothers.
The air force said the infants needed urgent treatment. “We pray that they will be treated and recover. We hope that our efforts and that of the medical team will help ease the burdens of the babies’ families.” - FMT
