Seremban district to be placed under CMCO

COVID-19 | The Seremban district in Negeri Sembilan will be placed under the conditional movement control order (MCO) between Nov 5 to Nov 18 to curb the spread of Covid-19.

This was decided by the National Security Council (NSC) today. Conditional MCO rules will place limits on business hours, force the closure of some non-essential businesses, schools and houses of worship.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the NSC was aware that there are people living in the affected district but working in the Klang Valley.

He said such workers can still leave for work as long as they have obtained the necessary documentation from their workplace and from the police.

Apart from Seremban, Putra Point Nilai vicinity in the Nilai township is currently the only other area in Negeri Sembilan to be placed under conditional MCO. That order is scheduled to expire on Nov 9 for Nilai.

According to the Health Ministry, Negeri Sembilan reported 433 new Covid-19 cases being reported over the past 14 days.

Most of the active cases in the state were reported in the Labu and Ampangan mukim (sub-district).

As with the conditional MCO enforced in other parts of the country, Ismail assured that most businesses, public transport, food outlets and grocery stores will be allowed to open as usual.

However, some services might be subjected to shorter hours. - Mkini
