The National Security Council (NSC) has lifted the state-wide conditional movement control order (MCO) previously imposed on Terengganu and Malacca.
Beginning Nov 21, the order will be lifted for most parts of Kedah and Johor as well, said Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In Kedah, the conditional MCO has been extended for Kulim until Dec 6. In Johor, the order has been extended for another two weeks for Mersing and Kota Tinggi.
Starting tomorrow, the four states minus these three districts will be under a more relaxed recovery MCO.
Kelantan, meanwhile, will be placed under a two-week conditional MCO beginning tomorrow (Nov 21) until Dec 6 due to a recent spike in infections there.
This means that come Nov 21, conditional MCO will apply in:
- Kelantan
- Selangor
- Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Putrajaya)
- Penang
- Perak
- Negeri Sembilan
- Sabah
Recovery MCO will apply in:
- Perlis
- Kedah (except Kulim)
- Pahang
- Terengganu
- Malacca
- Johor (except Mersing and Kota Tinggi)
- Sarawak (except Kuching)
EMCO in Penampang locality
Ismail also announced that an enhanced MCO will be imposed on K-Avenue, Megacity in Penampang, Sabah after the locality recently registered 110 Covid-19 cases.
The two-week lockdown begins on Sunday (Nov 22) and is slated to end on Dec 5.
The minister said that the order will affect some 400 residents as well as offices, workers’ quarters, and construction sites in the area.
Enhanced MCO standard operation procedures require residents to remain home from work and refrain from all social activities to allow for targeted Covid-19 testing procedures to take place.
Food supplies are to be distributed by local authorities.
Only one representative per household is allowed to leave the locality with police permission to buy necessities and withdraw cash from automated teller machines (ATM). - Mkini
