All temples conducting Deepavali-related ceremonies yesterday that were monitored by the Unity Ministry had complied with the guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
In a statement last night, the ministry said the guidelines included limiting temple capacity to 30 persons at one time with regular sanitisation of praying areas.
The guidelines also stipulated that there should be a maximum of five prayer sessions which were to take place between 7am and noon.
"It was observed that temples displayed posters on the guidelines and the new normal while preparing QR codes and equipment for temperature checks," the ministry said.
Deepavali was the second major religious event to have taken place in the country since Hari Raya Aidilfitri in May. - Mkini
