KOTA KINABALU: Several districts in Sabah, including Tenom, are turning into green zones after no new active Covid-19 cases were recorded in those areas.

Another new green zone is Nabawan, which saw all its coronavirus patients declared recovered a few days ago.

Beaufort has also improved to become a yellow zone (from orange), as it logged fewer than 20 cases today.

Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the state, however, still logged the highest number of cases at 391, with two deaths in the state capital, today.

Out of today's total number of cases, 136 are from close contact screenings held here, in Sandakan and Tawau.

Masidi also said two new clusters were detected in Sabah today – the Alila cluster in Tuaran, which registered 23 cases, and the Istimewa cluster in Sandakan with 16 cases.

"There are 358 Covid-19 patients who have been discharged from hospital.

"We still have 2,475 Covid-19 patients being treated either at hospitals or at low-risk treatment centres," he said in a statement.

On the management of public contributions and assistance, Masidi said donors could liaise with the Sabah Health Department if they want to contribute medical items.

As for other essential items, he said the public could work with respective district officers. - NST
