KUALA LUMPUR: As of Tuesday, Kuala Lumpur has the highest Covid-19 infectivity rate (Rt) in the country at 1.08.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a statement today, said seven other states recorded a Rt value above 1.0.
These were Negri Sembilan (1.06), Melaka (1.04), Johor and Kedah (both at 1.03) as well as Sabah and Selangor (both at 1.01).
The national Rt value, he said, stood at 0.99.
Five states registered an Rt value below the national average, namely Pahang (0.97), Penang (0.96), Perak (0.94), Kelantan (0.9) and Terengganu (0.78).
Meanwhile, Perlis, Labuan, Putrajaya and Sarawak reported Rt values of zero.
The Rt value of the virus refers to the ability of a positive case to pass on the infection to others. - NST
