Newly re-elected PAS Dewan Ulama committee member Mokhtar Senik today issued a cryptic warning to opponents of PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang from within.
"If you want to cantas (chop) me, I am not worried or anxious because I am not an important person in this party.
"Moreover, I have no personal interest. I have never 'played safe' like you.
"But if you wish to go against the president, then I will take notice. I will take action even if it doesn't benefit me politically. I don't care.
"I'm not paid a salary by the party, unlike you," said Mokhtar in a statement on his Facebook page.
It is uncertain who Mokhtar was referring to but it is a sign that dissent was not quelled after the party's annual delegates assembly last November.
However, in recent months, there have been speculations that there are detractors within the party who do not agree with Hadi's decision to side with Bersatu instead of Umno.
The PAS annual delegates assembly did not debate any resolution on which direction the party should take. However, it was clear that Hadi's position should be unchallenged.
Similarly, Mokhtar's statement today warned dissidents to stay loyal to PAS' leadership and Hadi.
"He is our teacher and educator. Do not incite (others) because we are watching. Be steadfast in our party position and be wala (loyal) to the leadership.
"Although there are no clear statements from you asking the goats to devour the vegetables, you have set the goats free and removed the fences.
"This means you are destroying the farm," he said. - Mkini
