KUCHING: The Sarawak state disaster management committee has relaxed Covid-19 restrictions and allowed family reunion dinners to be held on Chinese New Year’s eve on Jan 31.
The committee said reunion dinners are limited to family members, at 50% of the space capacity at home or based on the standard procedures for restaurants.
House-to-house visits are also permitted on the first and second days among family members. However open houses by individuals, associations and organisations are not allowed.
“Prayers at houses of worship are allowed in full compliance with the SOP, while the Chap Goh Mei celebration at the end of the Chinese New Year festival, is for close family members only,” the committee said.
Lion dance troupes will be allowed to operate from Feb 1 to Feb 4, from 6am to 6pm and from 6am to 10pm on Feb 15 (Chap Goh Mei). - FMT
