Tajuddin accuses some non-Umno ministers of ignoring PM’s orders

There are ministers who do not abide by the instructions of Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob because they are from different political parties, said Government Backbenchers Club (BBC) chairperson Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.

He said the rakyat have accepted the Keluarga Malaysia government and want to see it succeed, yet there are ministers who do not cooperate.

“There are some ministers who are not compliant or abide the prime minister’s instructions because they are from other parties (while) the prime minister is from Umno.

“Letters from the prime minister have not been taken into account. I have strong evidence that the prime minister’s orders are sometimes ignored,” Tajuddin said when met by Malaysiakini reporters yesterday.

For the record, Umno along with PAS and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) formed the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government after Bersatu and Azmin Ali’s camp withdrew their support for the Pakatan Harapan government in February 2020.

However, the PN-led government collapsed in August 2021 when Umno withdrew their support for the government led by then prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

Later, a new government led by Ismail Sabri was formed with the support of MPs in Bersatu, PAS and GPS.

Hinder progress

Meanwhile, Tajuddin said the attitude of ministers who ignore Ismail Sabri’s orders could potentially hinder the progress of the government.

“How can they do that… if it is so, how can we work?

“So let’s not take advantage, I hope everyone in the cabinet is united,” he added.

The Pasir Salak MP did not name the said ministers nor mention the orders made by Ismail Sabri.

In another development, Tajuddin extended his appreciation to the opposition lawmakers for their help and support to the prime minister, via the signed memorandum of understanding.

“I congratulate the opposition because they helped and agreed with the prime minister to focus on the issues of the rakyat,” he said. - Mkini
