KOTA BHARU: No government leaders or civil servants in Kelantan have been charged with offences such as misappropriation, abuse of power and corruption since PAS took over the state in 1990, says deputy menteri besar Amar Nik Abdullah.
However, he said some government officers had been investigated over such matters after reports were filed by certain parties.
He said reports of alleged misappropriation, abuse of power or corruption among government leaders could be lodged with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) or the police, but they must be backed by evidence.
“If a report is lodged, we are ready to be investigated,” he told reporters after attending an event held by the Kelantan State Economic Development Corporation last night.
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and menteri besar Ahmad Yakob also attended the event. - FMT
