PETALING JAYA: The founder of the largest multi-brand sports retailer has been appointed to a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission panel, by the prime minister.
Ali Hassan Mohd Hassan, who is also Al-Ikhsan Sports Sdn Bhd’s chairman, was appointed to the Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel (CCPP) along with three others.
The other three members are International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) legal adviser Nik Ahmad Kamal Nik Mahmood; former Universiti Sains Malaysia vice-chancellor Asma Ismail and Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance deputy chairman Yasmin Ahmad Merican.
The four join Salim Fateh Din, the executive vice-chairman of Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), who was appointed to the panel on April 1.
In a statement, the anti-graft agency also said that Borhan Dolah, the former director-general of the public services department (JPA), and Azizan Baharuddin, the director of Universiti Malaya’s Centre for Civilisational Dialogue (UMCCD) were reappointed as the panel’s chairman and member respectively.
Their appointments took effect from July 1 this year until June 30, 2024.
CCPP is one of the five independent oversight committees that are tasked to oversee the anti-graft agency’s conduct and operations. - FMT
