Bung in good health, don't spread old picture, says Sabah minister

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin is in good health, says his state Cabinet colleague Datuk Jafry Ariffin.

Jafry, who is state Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, said that the picture of Bung on a hospital bed that was being spread on social media was an old picture.

"Datuk Bung is in good health. I urge the public not to believe it," said Jafry, who is Sabah Umno secretary.

Jafry, who is seen in the picture along with Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, said that the picture was taken at a hospital when Bung returned from an overseas treatment about nine years ago.

He urged people not to spread the picture on social media as it was being done with ill intentions.

The picture re-emerged in social media following the Sept 2 Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court ruling for Bung and his wife Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad to enter their defence in connection with corruption charges. - Star
