COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 2,070 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,828,290.
Active cases stood at 25,717, down 4.6 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Another three deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as "brought in dead".
The state with the highest deaths was Johor (2), followed by Perak (1).
Over the past week, an average of 5.7 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 5.6, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on an uptrend.
There have been 129 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 247 deaths last month and 204 deaths in July.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,345 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There are 1,134 Covid-19 patients hospitalised of which 54 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (96) followed by Sabah (85) and Johor (39). - Mkini
