PAS MUKTAMAR | PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has expressed confidence that Perikatan Nasional (PN) will be open to discussing PAS’ request to contest using its own logo in the next 15th general election (GE15).
Speaking to reporters on the sideline of PAS’ 68th muktamar, he said the delegates’ request raised during their debates will be decided first at the party level, before being brought to PN for its consideration.
"Next week there will be a monthly PN supreme council meeting. This time we see there are requests from PAS delegates urging PN to consider the logo to be used in GE15.
"At the party level, we will first detail the proposal, following which we will bring it to the PN level for consideration.
"In principle, I see that PN chairperson (Muhyiddin Yassin) is open to hearing the views at the meeting and (we will) make a decision together," Tuan Ibrahim (above) added.
The environment and water minister also said that the PAS muktamar has accepted without debate a motion on the proposed logo use, as any decision would first require approval from the syura ulama council.
Meanwhile, PAS central election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said any decision made should be of benefit to the party.
"There must be discussions... if we forge ahead without agreement of our partners, that will be a loss," added the Kedah menteri besar in his winding-up speech.
Yesterday, Kedah and Selangor PAS delegates in the debate of their presidential address expressed hope that the PAS logo would be used in the next polls. - Mkini
