PKR Women’s wing will hold a town hall meeting this Sunday to strengthen its election machinery at central and state levels, as well as its divisions and grassroots for the upcoming 15th general election.
Speaking at a press conference today, its vice-president June Leow Hsiad Hui said the programme, themed ‘Care, Concern and Gender Mainstreaming’, would bring women from all over the country together.
“This town hall session will cover the issue of gender mainstreaming and building a safe ecosystem in the community, the prosperity of youth and nation and the implications of multidimensional poverty on women and family empowerment.
“It will also include pointers from experts brought in specifically for the programme,” said the Hulu Selangor MP, reading a statement.
PKR Women vice-president Sangetha Jeyakumar said bringing in expert opinions was an effort towards building Pakatan Harapan’s GE15 manifesto.
Also expected to attend the meeting are PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar and PKR Women’s chief Fadhlina Sidek. - Mkini
