The principal of SMK Senaling in Kuala Pilah has threatened legal action against an individual who put up a banner demanding her and senior teachers to be transferred.
Taking to social media, Normah Mohd Nor said legal action would be mounted against netizens who spread the images of the banner and relevant issues on social media.
"I will take legal action against individuals who spread the defamatory (messages) and individuals and 'pages' that spread it (the image) on various social media platforms," she said.
This is because Normah said the matter involved her dignity and the school's image as a whole.
"I will give 48 hours to the parties involved in this attack and defamation to come and meet me to apologise," she said.
Normah said she lodged a police report, and the matter is under police investigation.
"I firmly deny the allegation that went viral. They are clearly untrue, malicious, and aimed at bringing down my reputation and that of the school.
"As a principal, I sincerely carry out the responsibility entrusted to me when I was deployed to this school which has been left without a principal for eight months," she said.
Normah said a restructuring had triggered the attack on her and the school's senior administrative assistant.
"I am open to discussion prior to this but will not compromise with individuals who are rude, work half-heartedly and do not show good performance.
"I stick to my educational charter and pledge as both principal and teacher," she added.
Yesterday, Senaling state assemblyperson Adnan Abu Hassan revealed that a police report had been made over the banner hung on the school's fence.
"I have contacted the district education office director about this matter, and the education office went to the school and initiated an investigation into the protest.
"While the initial information showed that the majority of teachers disagree with the messages stated in the banner, we should await the police's finding," he said on social media.
An image of a banner with a message urging the school's principal and senior teachers to be transferred out immediately went viral on social media since Friday.
The individual behind the banner said this is to prevent teachers from being stressed and hurt by the actions of school administrators who oppressed and threatened the teachers. - Mkini
