ALOR SETAR: PAS leadership should engage with cybertroopers throughout the country to quash smear campaigns and false narratives spread about the party, a delegate told the party’s general assembly (muktamar) today.
Perak PAS secretary Fairuz Hafiizh Othman said it was important for PAS to not only impress crowds at political rallies, but also do just as good a job at capturing the hearts of social media users.
He said the party’s use of cybertroopers could help turn the tide in their favour at the next general election, adding that the PAS-controlled states of Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu had done the right thing by using such services and offering them token sums.
“When we have ministers at the federal level and at GLCs, why can’t we make this happen at the federal level?” he said.
“There are cybertroopers around the country who are in the private sector. We should appreciate them and be close to them.
“They are not our competitors but are commandos and guerrillas who are sincerely fighting for the jemaah.
“They are not asking to be paid, but it’s not wrong to ask them what they need,” he said.
Fairuz also claimed the opposition had manipulated the media in the past, in allowing them to win in the polls. - FMT
