The Umno member who last month filed a notice of objection against the no-contest resolution for the party's top two posts has urged the party secretary-general to not interfere in the probe.
Aizat Fikri Mohd Nasir, who hails from Kuala Terengganu, said Ahmad Maslan should not issue statements on the matter "prematurely".
"I hope the Umno secretary-general will not precede the Registrar of Societies (ROS) in deciding on the matter, and not intervene in the probe.
"I believe the ROS will conduct detailed investigations into the matter by calling up all the delegates, as well as the supreme council members who were in Dewan Merdeka when the motion was passed.
"To me, the issue is far from over, and I hope that truth will prevail," Sinar Harian quoted him as saying in a statement.
Aizat was commenting on the remark by Ahmad (above) yesterday there was no breach in Umno's constitution or rules with the passing of a no-contest motion for the president and deputy president's posts during the party's recent general assembly.
Aizat confirmed that he had received a reply from the ROS regarding his complaint, assuring him that it is investigating the matter.
In his complaint, Aizat alleged that the no-contest resolution is invalid and contravened the party constitution.
Terengganu Umno chairperson Ahmad Said had distanced himself from Aizat's complaint, saying the latter had acted on his own. - Mkini
